The Jamaica Football Federation
through its President, Captain Horace Burrell, today paid a
courtesy call on Her Excellency Brenda LaGrange Johnson, the
Ambassador of the United States to Jamaica. The President was
accompanied by the Technical Director, Professor Rene Simoes.
The President used the occasion
to outline to Ambassador LaGrange the new vision and philosophy
for the development of the sport in Jamaica.
In a rich and productive
discussion, the Ambassador showed great interest in the plans
outlined and expressed pleasure in meeting the JFF’s
representatives.
She acknowledged her recognition
of the important role soccer plays in strengthening ties
between nations and in galvanising strong national pride within
nations.
The President expressed his
sincerest personal appreciation to Her Excellency for receiving
himself and the Technical Director.
