Vice President with responsibilities for Security, Operations and
Events, Raymond Anderson, departed the island on Monday for a
one-day National Security Officer (NSO) workshop in Miami,
Florida. The workshop, which is organized jointly by FIFA and
CONCACAF, will be held at the West Miami Hotel.
It will cover the new FIFA Safety
Regulations which came into force on January 1, 2009. According to
FIFA, these new regulations became necessary because FIFA 'the
previous guidelines governing this area were not applied strictly
enough by some FIFA members and (they) saw the need for a fully
regulated, practical and solidly structured approach which has
become a must in the field of safety and security management by
FIFA members at each football event.'
Anderson, current president of
the St. Mary Football Association, has been a JFF Board member
since 1987. He has also served as Chairman of the Eastern
Confederation, First and Third Vice President of the JFF; was the
first chairman of the Women’s Committee, served on Competitions’,
Youth and Security Committees. He returns to the island on
Wednesday February 10, 2010. |
