The proposed
international friendly between the Jamaica’s Senior National Men’s
Football Team and the Haitian National team, scheduled for Fort
Lauderdale on May 18 has been called off by the Jamaica Football
Federation.
The friendly
which was to be part of the Jamaica’s preparation for its World
Cup Qualifiers was cancelled by the Federation because the
relevant Haitian authorities did not meet important deadlines
despite extensions on many occasions. The Federation was also of
the view that there would have been administrative weaknesses in
the arrangements which could have embarrassed the national team.
The Federation
will now be concentrating its preparations on the return leg
friendly international against Trinidad and Tobago scheduled for
June 7 in Port of Spain.
As part of that
preparation a full strength squad including overseas players will
be called to camp on May 25. Preceding that a training camp for
local based players will begin in the western end of the island on
May 15. |
