Portmore United
FC will be staging a season ending celebration of their successful
2007/2008 National Premier League (NPL) Championship season this
Sunday May 11th 2008 at Ferdie Neita Park. The festivities will
feature the final game of the NPL season against runners-up Tivoli
Gardens FC starting at 3:30pm followed by a game between a
celebrity All Star team and the Portmore United Masters. The
Portmore United players will be individually honored with a lineup
parade to mark their outstanding achievements of the season.
Featured
celebrities include Portmore stalwarts Captain Barkey and
Wickerman, Cobra and Prestige. Also expected to take the field
will be National Technical Director Rene Simoes, Alfredo Montesso
and Chico Santos as well as media sports personality Oral Tracey.
The Portmore United Masters will include Coach Linval “Rudy”
Dixon, Lenworth “Teacher” Hyde, Donovan Dukie, Howard “Big Mac”
McIntosh, JFF General Secretary Horace Reid and His Worship,
Portmore Mayor Keith Hinds.
Patrons will also
be entertained by the Pacesetters Marching Band and the Portmore
United Cheerleaders. Several lucky fans will receive prizes and
giveaways courtesy of Coca Cola, Sports Plus and Western Sports.
All persons are encouraged to attend early as seating and
giveaways are limited. Portmore United expresses its appreciation
to the fans of Portmore and beyond as well as our sponsors who
have supported their efforts this year and look forward to sharing
in the fun and excitement this Mother’s Day.
