 The Jamaica Football Federation
has named an 18 member National Women’s Squad who will compete in
the first round of Caribbean Qualifiers to the 2008 Olympics.
Jamaica is in Group C which also includes Bermuda, Dominica and
hosts Antigua.
The Caribbean Qualifying
Tournament features 15 Caribbean nations in 4 groups for the first
round qualification. Antigua, Cayman, Dominican Republic and
Suriname will each host a Caribbean First Round Group. The four
group winners will advance to the second round that consists of 1
Round Robin 4 team group. The winner and runner-up will progress
to the CONCACAF Final Round Tournament.
The team leaves the island for
Antigua on Monday, October 1 at 8:50am.
