The Jamaica Reggae Boyz lost 3 – 1 to hosts Canada in their International Friendly this afternoon at the BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.
Jamaica got off the mark first when Kemar Lawrence scored a sensational free kick in the 30th minute which was awarded for a foul on Simon Dawkins.
Canada wasted no time in replying with a clever set piece of their own in the 31st. Bernier’s corner found David Edgar just outside the box who volleyed past an unsighted Blake.
The break ended 1 – 1.
Jermaine Anderson was replaced by young Jamar Loza at the half. Loza’s pace gave the Canadian back line problems and led to several chances for Jamaica. However the Reggae Boyz were unable to capitalize.
In the 68th minute Marcel DeJong struck a free kick eerily similar to the one dispatched by Lawrence in the first half to put the Canadians up 2-1.
The Canadians sealed their win when Canadian forward Rickets pounced on a ball which Goalkeeper Andre Blake struggled to control.
The Reggae Boyz Starting XI is as follows:
