U20 Reggae Girlz defeated, 1-0 loss to Haitians

Jamaica suffered a shock 0-1 defeat at the hands of Haiti, which has thrown their Under-20 World Cup qualifying campaign in a tailspin.

At the San Cristobal Stadium beneath a scorching sun yesterday, Roselord Borgella hit the target from the penalty spot in the 38th minute after a handball call against the Young Reggae Girlz, and the group favourites Jamaica could find no way back.

The result has put immense pressure on Vin Blaine and his Girlz as only the group winner here is guaranteed a place to the CONCACAF play-offs later this year.
The Girlz must now win their two remaining games against the Cayman Islands tomorrow and then against the hosts the Dominican Republic next Tuesday if they harbour any thoughts of salvaging a campaign placed on pins and needles
